Carretera Austral

Carretera Austral

More than 1,200 kilometres of natural beauty await you on this scenic Patagonian Route, unique in the world.
This is the Carretera Austral, a place that enchants all those who visit it by car or bicycle, with pristine landscapes and an air that only those lucky enough to know this route can breathe.

It runs through Chile from Puerto Montt to Villa O'Higgins, a road that allows you to appreciate Chilean Patagonia in all its splendour, crossing almost virgin islands and dismembered coasts on ferries. With an enormous diversity of landscapes, this route is also ideal for adventure sports: go rafting on the Futaleufú River (Los Lagos Region), or discover the corners of this place touched by the magic wand with one of the many trekking routes that exist in this Green Patagonia.

Combine your journey with a visit to the glaciers that adorn one of the last corners of the world and be amazed by Caleta Tortel (Aysén Region), a town in the south of Chile with characteristic cypress walkways.

On the Carretera Austral, get to know a piece of paradise, marvelling at impressive fjords and glaciers, snowdrifts, multi-coloured lakes and rivers surrounded by diverse types of forests.
